This position of Strategic Sourcing Specialist for the Supply Base Management department will serve as a full-time member of respective purchased product teams and participate in and provide input to the development and implementation of strategic supplier management and capacity concepts including process characterization and control and development of supplier partnerships. This position will support the commodity team groups, assist managers with issue management and resolution and lead teams to drive improvement to metrics, business processes and systems across the purchased product supply base.
Summary of Duties:
Responsible for Supply Base Management activities such as supplier onboarding, capacity planning, and supplier engagement.
Assists Commodity Team area management in the development of area-specific strategies, goals, and guidelines.
Provides input to the development and implementation of strategic supplier management concepts including process characterization and control and development of long term supplier partnerships.
Manages, nurtures and owns supplier relationship; designs and implements supplier improvement initiatives and resolves critical supplier issues.
Implement standard work for supplier recovery/improvement plans, and oversee the use of tools to drive delivery, quality, and capacity improvements across the Supply Base.
Serves as a full-time member of respective purchased product and onboarding teams; participates in and provides input to the development and implementation of strategic supplier management concepts including process characterization and control and development of supplier partnerships.
Analyzes Supplier Capacity data to ensure adequate supply sources and identifies gaps in product demand support, communicating mitigation strategy to the Purchasing organization
Assists management with issue management and resolution; mentor CT's on risk mitigation.
Travels as necessary.
You Must Have:
US citizenship in order to obtain US Dept. of Energy "Q" level security clearance.
Bachelor's Degree in a technical, professional, business or administrative field.
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a manufacturing or supply chain function with consistent achievement of high quality results on assigned responsibilities, or equivalent related experience.
Demonstrated ability to identify, lead and execute innovative commercial best practices and sourcing strategies.
Have a working knowledge of purchasing procedures, products, services and strategic supplier management concepts. Ability to plan and organize, demonstrate excellent time management and support several projects at once.
Bachelor's Degree in a technical, professional, or administrative field.
Five (5) or more years of experience preferred, in a business or manufacturing environment with increasing levels of responsibility within a Purchasing or Supply Base Management field.
Two (2) or more years of demonstrated proficiency with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
