Develops and conducts activities and programs to implement fire protection engineering management practices in support of a large manufacturing facility. Ensure compliance with fire protection codes, regulations and Department of Energy (DOE) Orders
Reviews plant facilities, equipment, materials, and work practices to identify unsafe conditions and assure implementation of appropriate hazard controls
Reviews proposed layouts, facility design drawings and equipment specifications for fire safety hazards and documents findings for corrective action
Develops safety and health orientations and training programs for employees
Prepares applicable reports and program documents required by DOE or regulatory agencies
Investigates accidents to determine causes and recommends action to prevent recurrence
Advises and supports plant supervision in the effective implementation of fire protection requirements
Based upon an extensive knowledge of application regulations, recommends new or revised program activities to assure full compliance by Honeywell FM&T with current requirements of laws and regulations
Participates in development and implementation of fire protection and emergency preparedness risk assessment and related programs
Works independently to develop fire protection programs affecting the entire division and the KCNSC
You Must Have:
Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Civil Engineering
Minimum 2 years of fire protection experience
Ability to work independently, guide the work of others and understand, interpret and implement safety standards and procedures
Ability to review and interpret facility design drawings
Good communication skills in one-on-one situations and group settings
Good writing skills required; must be able to document information and data clearly and concisely
