Honeywell’s Federal Manufacturing & Technologies business manages the U.S. Department of Energy’s Kansas City National Security Campus in Missouri and New Mexico, manufacturing sophisticated mechanical, electronic and engineered-material components for our nation's defense system. Primary Duties:

Interfaces with customers, design agency personnel, suppliers, and internal organizations to resolve design, development, production and acceptance issues across multiple concurrent assignments and responsibilities. Plans, executes, participates in, directs, influences or coordinates completion of tasks within larger projects with responsibility for completion of work on schedule. Prepares evaluation reports, analyzes discrepancies, and recommends improvements. Interacts with suppliers and internal organizations to assure compatibility between requirements and process capability. Negotiates and documents project task agreements and cost price estimates for defined scope of work requiring flexibility to work with a wide variety of customers and varying customer requirements. Tracks and evaluates key performance metrics across multiple projects; implements cost savings opportunities and productivity improvements

You Must Have:

  • US citizenship to obtain and maintain US Dept of Energy "Q" level security clearance.

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent engineering degree from an ABET accredited engineering program, or BS Physics.

  • Six or more years of relevant experience in engineering of products or processes or comparable related technical activities, including application of advanced engineering principles and technology related to highly complex technical assignments.

  • Demonstrated experience in project leadership.

We Value:

  • 5 plus years directly applied engineering experience in a technology and/or manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Advanced degree in an engineering, engineering management physics or business discipline is advantageous.

  • Experience/familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and/or Earned Value Management (EVM) systems.

  • Technical project management experience: Experience managing 1 or more technical projects, with responsibility for scope, schedule and cost. History reflective of executing continuous improvement toward products and/or processes.

  • Strong communication, interactive and presentation skills. Experience presenting technical material to varied levels of audiences. Ability to motivate others to produce on-target and timely results.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

  • Experience interpreting technical drawings and documents.

  • Ability in analytical skills, mathematical computations, computer software applications, written documentation. Ability to apply those skills to engineering projects.

  • Interest in an applied engineering career in a technology or manufacturing business; willingness to consider relocation with Honeywell in alignment with career development.

  • Ability to interface effectively with support organizations and internal customers and exercise judgment to determine appropriate action.

  • Ability to plan and organize, demonstrate excellent time management and support several projects at once.

  • Decision making capability and organization, planning and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work under minimal supervision, with latitude for independent action and decision making.

  • A broad knowledge of manufacturing or quality processes and techniques.

  • Ability to apply advanced design, development, evaluation, and quality control techniques to highly complex Mechanical Engineering concepts and projects.

  • Ability to work without supervision, with latitude for independent action and decision making.

  • Ability to provide technical guidance, project management, consultative services, and innovative solutions
