Engineering Support Specialists perform a variety of moderately complex engineering support assignments requiring knowledge of manufacturing, business, and project management processes. Current openings will support departments within Purchased Products.

Summary of Duties:

  • Partner with engineers, technicians, and operations personnel in product development and production activities

  • Manager procurement of development parts

  • Assist with executing Lean Six Sigma, continuous improvement projects

  • Assist manager with tracking of metrics, status updates, external communication, and long-term projects enabling department to function at a high level

  • Create, draft, maintain and update Manufacturing Execution System (MES) routings, change orders, specifications changes, and other various engineering document changes

  • Assist engineer in establishing Bill of Materials, item setups, and product definitions

  • Create and maintain quality documentation required for product acceptance

  • This includes Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), Corrective Action Requests (CAR), Purchased Product Definitions (PPD), First Time Submittal (FTS) checklists, and any other required documentation

  • Work with Production Control, Quality Engineering, Inspection, Product Engineering and Operations to streamline production

  • Review and revise related manufacturing, processor inspection documents. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to work instructions

  • Work with Configuration Management to ensure drawing and specification change information is documented appropriately into factory instructions

  • Assist project managers in cost and schedule management, generation of Cost Price Estimates (CPE), risk assessments, and generation of project documentation and presentations as required Assist engineers in establishing and performing production readiness reviews

  • Assist in training and documenting training for inspection workforce

You Must Have:

  • US citizenship in order to obtain US Dept. of Energy ""Q"" level security clearance

  • Associates Degree in technical field or business or a Bachelor's degree

  • Eight (8) or more years of experience in an engineering and/or manufacturing environment, or military experience

  • Two (2)or more years' demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite desktop applications, such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, MS Project

We Value:

  • Bachelor's degree in technical or business field

  • Ten (10) or more years of experience preferred, in an engineering or manufacturing environment with progressively increasing levels of responsibility

  • Experience in engineering-related administrative activities such as configuration management, financial and schedule tracking and reporting, data entry and analysis

  • Experience and success in planning, organizing, critically thinking, time management and multi-tasking

  • Experience and success om developing and enabling teams, effectively communicating with various stakeholders, and executing continuous improvements
