This position is for a Senior Project Engineer (PE) in the Aircraft team of the Sensing Guidance and Navigation (SGN) Center of Excellence (COE). In this role you will work with multi-discipline development teams, responsible for the following:

  • Schedule and Milestone development and management

  • Customer relationships

  • Understanding technology

  • Estimation development and analysis

  • Cost development

  • Budget analysis

  • Metric development/reporting

  • Risk/Opportunity development and management

  • Vendor interface

  • Leading and managing proposal activities

  • Coordinating and leading internal and customer meetings, telecoms and action registers

  • Monitoring and helping project team members to meet commitments

  • Committed to meeting delivery objectives and customer expectations


  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering-related discipline

  • 2+ years engineering development experience

  • 6+ years total engineering development and/or project management experience


  • Demonstrated project management experience with ability to lead projects of varying scope and complexity

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to create and sustain an environment that promotes good communications

  • Ability to convey subtle or complex messages clearly, as appropriate for the topic and audience

  • Demonstrated organization skills

  • Experience in baseline management and negotiating/coordinating scope changes.

  • Experience in generating basis of estimates (BOE)

  • Experience in leading proposals

  • Experience evaluating earned value results and devising corrective action to return program to cost and schedule baseline

  • Ability to manage conflicts and drive towards win-win solutions

  • PMP certification

  • Familiarity with DO-178, DO-254, or similar design assurance guidelines

  • Ability to multi-task and be flexible in a challenging and fast-paced environment

  • Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked by others or forced to by events

  • Experience in Aerospace engineering or a base in the field of guidance and navigation
