The Guidance Project Engineer provides technical and engineering leadership to the Minuteman Guidance Sustainment Program in support of the pendulous integrating gyroscopic accelerometer (PIGA) and the missile guidance computer (MGC). This is a highly technical position which supports our nation’s defense by ensuring the continual performance and availability of critical guidance subsystems for our land-based ICBM force.
Be the primary technical liaison with Honeywell program management, functional management for Minuteman Guidance
Provide leadership to the team of technicians and engineers which support the sustainability, reliability and accuracy of the PIGA and the MGC in the deployed ICBM force
Be the primary customer interface with Air Force, BAE, Boeing and Draper Laboratory engineering staffs
Ensure all technical and engineering requirements of the program statement of work are achieved
Promote program growth through the development and execution of add-on tasks
Provide OEM engineering expertise to the Boeing-Heath ICBM repair facility
Provide force development evaluation (FDE) support through pre-launch and post-launch analyses
Prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations to the Air Force, and Boeing
Ensure cost, schedule and performance goals are met on all engineering tasks as Cost Account Manager
YOU MUST HAVE
B.S. in aerospace, systems, electrical, or mechanical engineering or physics or applied physics
5+ years of experience in the areas of missile guidance/navigation and inertial instrument design and function and production
An active DoD secret security clearance or the ability to obtain such a clearance
Due to contractual agreements, all applicants must be US Citizens.
The ability to interface with other engineering disciplines, particularly electrical, test and software engineering
The ability to effectively communicate between the engineering and business management worlds
Experience in coordinating and directing the activities of multi-discipline engineering teams to achieve technical goals within a fixed budget
Cross-disciplinary experience / background in multiple fields: mechanics, electronics, electromagnetics, inertial instrument design and performance and spaceflight computer design and performance and manufacturing
